How to specify a forklift battery

Start from the truck, not the kWh figure: voltage, compartment dimensions, counterweight and the current draw of the lift and hydraulic pumps. A pack that is undersized on current will derate by the afternoon shift even when the capacity looks correct on paper.

Then decide the charging pattern. Opportunity charging needs a BMS and charger that accept partial cycles, while a single-shift operation can usually stay with one full charge per day. Both are available, but they change the cell and BMS selection.
